About me
My work is person-centred and solution-focused. I try to create an environment for my clients that is in the first instance warm and accepting. I’m grateful for the trust my clients place in me and honour that trust by working with them in a sympathetic and collaborative way to help them identify and solve the issues that may be causing them difficulties.
As a registered hypno-psychotherapist, my work combines traditional talking therapy with the added benefit of using hypnosis as a fast and effective “reprogramming” tool. I am registered as a full member with the NSTT and CNHC I trained with the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, one of the UK’s most established and accredited colleges of hypno-psychotherapy.
About hypnosis
First the hocus-pocus. No waving pocket watch. Ever being standing in the queue waiting for a coffee and caught yourself drifting off to some faraway beach? That’s hypnosis. It’s a process where you remain in control. Most people’s experience of hypnosis is a deeply calm and relaxing one.
The core of the work is psychotherapeutic; “the talking cure”, with hypnosis used as and when required. For some clients hypnosis may not be appropriate - indeed they may make a positive choice not to try hypnotherapy. For others it will be a very valuable part of the therapeutic process.

About therapy
I understand that for many people the biggest step they take in seeking help from a therapist is the very first one. The entire focus of my work is to make that important first step as easy as possible by putting you at ease and creating an environment where you will feel entirely relaxed and comfortable. Sessions are structured so that each client is free to move at their own pace.
Fees
My fees are £70 for a one-hour session. Initial consultation (approx 2 hours) is £140, including hypnosis. I also offer one-off fixed fees for breaking habits. Please see here
It’s one thing to have an inspiring quote - the self-help books and websites are full of them. But it’s another thing to turn that inspiration into a lasting reality. My background is in creativity and I specialise in working with creative people of all disciplines to help them overcome blocks in both their professional and personal lives in order to reach their full potential. You lack confidence and watch as others around you seem to thrive? Your relationship lacks a little sparkle? Somewhere inside you have a feeling that something needs fixing? Burnout, self-doubt, procrastination? I will work with you in a warm and supportive way to help overcome obstacles so that you may lead the life you wish to lead.

Social anxiety
Social anxiety can be so debilitating. Trashing our social lives, preventing us from making new friends or finding a partner, keeping our lips tightly sealed at meetings when we know we have something valuable to contribute. The problem is, the more we don’t put ourselves in social situations, the more we start to reinforce the idea that we just can’t put ourselves in social situations. The more we avoid forming relationships, making friends or speaking up at work the more we are giving ourselves the message that these things are “just not for us”.
Hypnotherapy can help immediately by dramatically reducing social anxiety, desensitising your encounters with other people so that they seem less challenging, and allowing you to regain composure and calmness. We then set to work on the underlying causes of social anxiety so that your mind can be reprogrammed to think in a different way and make social interactions an altogether more relaxed, positive experience for you. Online
Online hypnotherapy works extremely well. I also provide recorded hypnosis sessions for you to use at home between sessions. You can choose to work with me via Zoom, Skype or Facetime, wherever you are in the world.
Rewire
Can we rewire the brain? Surprisingly the answer to that question is yes - sort of. Neuroscience is supporting what therapists have felt instinctively for a while. Therapeutic experiences that rewire the emotional brain are indeed possible, leading in turn to significant changes in our emotional response. Clients experience this as “something has shifted”, being free of a burden and able to view the world afresh.
